It's a matter of politeness, my friend. If I were to call someone on a telephone, I wouldn't want to turn on the speakerphone and air the whole conversation to friends and strangers alike. But no, I had merely... seen you around here, and wished to have an opportunity to speak with you. It seems we have a lot in common.

A dissatisfaction with our current situation, for one. The wisdom and rationality to see the inherent flaws in a city based on what is known as "heroism." Am I painting an accurate picture?

I see you're a man who wastes no time. Is it true that you've also been involved in robberies? Assassinations? I try to keep an ear open on the communicator, you see. I never want to miss any important news should it come up.

I'm afraid you're mistaken. You see, I am merely a tired, former servant of the gods, doing my best to survive in this open air prison. I must admit, however, that I've often entertained lashing out at our captors, the ones who blindly stamp the word hero on our foreheads, put cameras in our homes, and expect us to work like slaves for a cause that doesn't belong to us. No, I'd have to say that these people don't have the 'purest of motives.' But what can we expect.

Like I said, it's a matter of politeness. Then again, I'm also sure you know that discussions such as this one are practically seen as treason. Most of the others believe we should be thankful, you see, for an opportunity to do good. To say otherwise implies there is something fundamentally wrong with our moral core, that we are less deserving of living a peaceful life. The moment something goes wrong - and believe me, something is always going to go wrong - we'll be the first to be rounded up, interrogated, locked up, or even killed, our rights rendered entirely meaningless.

That, my friend, is what you can expect.

I'm extraordinarily glad to hear it. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to keep in contact with you from now on. It would be nice, regularly speaking with someone who shares my views.
