I'm sure it wouldn't be unreasonable for a potential buyer to ask to see some of the merchandise?

I'm afraid you don't understand. There is no other tech this advanced anywhere else on this world. It's one of a kind - the owner of this stuff could forge light years ahead of his competitors. I'd say five billion for the monopoly on the weapons industry isn't being swindled... it's an investment.
