Selfish reasons. I want them to be safe. I am sure they have fought him since or worse while I was gone. I know we fought a lot of tough battles as New mutants. But Doug died because of him and we were all there.

Sam is immortal. He can't die, and we could use that. There aren't many with that power to defend themselves against Hodge.
