[Feed cuts in to show Xanatos seated comfortably at what one can assume is a lavish desk, illuminated by a harsh light from above and computer screens from behind. He wears, of course, a business man's suave smile to go with the expensive suit, and steeples his hands before him.]Greetings. Some of you I've spoken with before, many of you I haven't ( Read more... )

The pleasure is mine. And those that know me seem to stick with plain Xanatos, but really, I'm not picky.

I appreciate it, Mr. Dent. If you don't mind my asking, what's your role around here?

I think you'll find 'innocent until proven guilty' only applies to those who arrive without the baggage of companions.

Prior relationships and reputations seem to have a tendency of carrying over.

I feared as much. Some people just seem incapable of letting the past go, don't they? I can only imagine how irritating something like that would be.

Not so much 'irritating' as 'inconvenient'. Those who err on the side of the law tend to have long memories - perhaps not without reason - but it colors their judgment on certain issues: case-in-point being the filter system that was dismantled little over a month ago.

Supposedly, it was to keep the less savory element out of other peoples' posts, but such methods can only be so effective.

And it was those that, as you put it, err on the side of the law that dismantled it? I can't say that seems a terribly bright decision.

I'd certainly like to meet anyone who believes in "innocent until proven guilty" in this place. I think they'd be a rare find.

I have no problems applying it here. Nice to meet you, Mr. Xanatos.

Why does it always seem that the heroes are those most distanced from the law?

In any case, a pleasure to meet you as well, Mr...?

As forewarning, sir, some may be distracted by the latest panic to hit the city.

I've realized. Somewhat unfortunate timing.

I trust you aren't among those effected?

Indeed. Unfortunately this city can be difficult to predict in its panics.

I remain unaffected. Even if I were, however, I would not let such a matter interfere with my work.

Well, no matter. As situations change, so do plans. I'm sure I'll be able to adapt.

And that's good to hear, Owen! I'd expect nothing less.

[[ooc: sounds good to me!]]
