Greetings, oh wondrous City! It's been some time since I've chatted with you last. I'm sorry I missed the giant lizard fiasco - and by sorry, I mean not at all - but I do hope everyone has recovered, resurrected or otherwise been accommodated by this City's forgiving nature. "Forgiving" being a relative term, of course ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear that. At least you don't sound too broken up by it.

Yes, I do think I remember that. Specifics are fuzzy, of course, but you popped back around the time others started resurrecting. Maybe a little before. How was it? If you don't mind my asking.

Some people don't stay dead here?

Hmm...I suppose that would make sense...

I take it you missed all the excitement a month or so ago. People were popping up left and right claiming to be returned from the dead. I bet you're glad you know.

I guess I must have.

I have no fear of death. It's something of a disappointment, really.

I'd consider it an advantage.

I was dead before I arrived, and I'll be dead when I return. I'm not lacking in anything.

As for the people who seem to be revived time and time again in this City, I suppose they'll just have to find something else to fear.

I don't mean any offense, but logistically, I'm trying to piece together what you've said. You're dead, huh? Walking, talking dead?

Physically, there's not even a shred of evidence to suggest that I've died. Nothing more than the memory, and a whole lot of nothing. I don't have any scars, and there are no signs of tampering, per se, to explain my seemingly random resurrection.

But yes: I am walking, talking, and any other number of adjectives commonly assigned to the living.

Here's some food for thought. How do you know you didn't just die and then get better like so many other people here?

There is still pain in loss.

The loss of what? Your own life? Well, no kidding, there's pain. Or are we talking about the vague, emotional, "my heart aches and woe is me" kind? Personally, I'm not a fan. There's always something a little absurd about mourning the past.

Why?

It's already happened, hasn't it? There's no point sitting around whining and feeling sorry for yourself.

I take it you also identify yourself as "dead?"
