I want to commend everyone for their valiant efforts last night, especially those on the police force that assisted in the evacuation efforts. Maybe we didn't have the support of the federal government, but I am honored to live and work with the many heroes living in this city.
Moving forward, we should focus our efforts on three main areas - search and rescue, crime prevention, and reconstruction. We CAN get this city back on its feet and safe for the evacuated civilians, but we have to work together.
The police force is still hiring, to the best of our budget. We don't pay a lot, but working for the police is more than just wearing a uniform and arresting people. We need secretaries, dispatchers, prison guards, officers, and clerical workers.
Please - we need your help. And even if law enforcement isn't your thing, we need rescue workers and construction workers. We need people to clear the debris.
