Leaving NZ and getting to Oahu, Hawai'i.

Well peoples we had to reluctantly leave NZ, flying from Auckland on our lastest visa day.
We fly across Cook Strait in little plane to Wellington and there have long wait, so go in to city for last look round.
We goes up cable car and take nice walk back through Botanic Gardens down the hill.
At airport we finds Gollum. He scary man!

So what was the bird? Do you know?

Are those portions above water parts of the USS Arizona peeking out of the water? If so, I had no idea that parts of it are still exposed. Wow.

The bird is a Brazilian Cardinal. Cute, ain't he.
Yes, those are the gun turrets of the Arizona above the surface.
The smell of the leaking oil makes the Memorial even more atmospheric and poignant.

Wow, what an exciting few days for you little one! :-)

Did it seem somewhat strange to be flying back to Oz when you'd left it a few months ago?

Hawaii looks beautiful, as much as we have heard of its beauty. One day!

I cannot begin to imagine how many experiences you will have at the end of this trip. You are a very lucky meerkat to have experienced so much... :-)

Was funny returning to Australia, but even stranger having two Fridays. Leaving Sydney 6pm, arriving Honolulu 7am the same day!!!

Was very warm after NZ. Idiot man get himself burnt on first day!!
