Ever since attending to the Creative Writing course last term I've been, as you might've noticed, greatly interested in everything about literature and writing. The course didn't only give me a really good friend in the two different teachers we had during the course (there was the fiction part and the non-fiction part of the course) but I also walked away with better selfconfidence and two borrowed books on journalism.
I still need to read those two books on journalism. Still my style is a bit unpolished and can be compared to the first steps of a baby. The secret is that I actually write most things on my blogs in one sitting. Of course it would be better to work on more article(ish) entries for several days, and I have reconsidered to do that, but at the moment I have very limited time most of the days and I still need to learn how to concentrate a bit better and also realise that things take time.
After summer, when I am taking my "sabbath year" working as, hopefully, a cleaner in order to gain money for future studies the plan is to start writing for zines. Still there is little chance that I know the good zines or that I will ever try and get myself into any of them, but it is merely practice and the fun of "spreading the word". I am going to do it under a pseudonym anyway.
The gentlemen of Wu Ming write together as, well, Wu Ming. The Residents of modern literature? Perhaps, perhaps,
you can try it out for yourself, though I can't help you, I still need to read their works that have been translated into English and I tend to prioriate the books I have that are in Swedish.
Still, the pseudonym thing fascinates me. I have a pseudonym already, but it is not very secret at all and you can see who I am here and there. But to be completely secret, and have a couple of pseudonyms, was the topic of a chit-chat between a friend and mine. We concluded that if you do it good you can have several pseudonyms for several "local papers", and if you happen to write for bigger papers you can always start a debate between the pseudonyms. Perhaps people would take it really serious, and start to aid one pseudonym and hate the other, all while it being the same person. The bad side would be that if they find out you might be a very lonely person for the rest of the future.
But what to write about? Well, here at this blog I will focus a bit on food: My relation to food, our relation to food, the importance of food, diets, supermarkets, vegetarianism, fruit and taste. Not that I am an expert at food but I really love food... I like cookies too, but don't tell my friends!
Even though you know what to write about, it is also a question to HWO HOW you should write about it. Should you be really really angry? Should you be really really unserious about it? Should you be ambivalent about it? Should you be really surrealistic with it? Eywri eyte eyi eyn eya eydi eyffe eyre eynt eylang eyua eyge? It beats me, but do have a persona, an image, an etos, is important, no? However, there is a lot of time left for it to become important right right now, so I won't hesitate.
All that we need to know is that I am going to talk about food.
