I guess there is something around it. You know, when I think of it there must be some people out there who are addicted to music. Or atleast experiencing the new.
I remember something I either heard or read long ago. It was about how many liked that kick they got when they encountered fear in any given situation. Sooner or later they needed more of that rush they got it out of getting scared. Now what if it happend the same to us when we encounter new music? New ideas?
Whenever the brain encounter something that it seem as fun it sends out signals to organs that produce a substance that nearly works as a sort of drug for the brain. It happens when we have fun. When we drink alcohol.
But what if it happens when we sit and listen to music? I know that many times I've either been excited about music, needs to stop whatever I am doing, and have to listen CLOSELY to the piece I am listening to. I feel that everything isn't important anymore, it's all over, it doesn't need to be there, I feel happy, I just stop. So, I usually do it again, and again, and again and so on. Til' I find the music boring, useless, like a "whatever". Then I might have something else that makes me stop, wait, listen, etc.
So, I merely just have begun to speculate about whatever this might be true or not. but you can be addicted to sex, games, mags, food, drugs, alcohol, coffee, you name it. So why not music?
Anyone got their own thoughts?
