Dear Journal

Dear journalreader. I haven't been around as often as I used too. Even if you might miss me or not I must report that my work have been taking some of my time lately. You better get used to the situation since soon I am about to start working on my new album so it will be finished soon enough. Hopefully it will be as great as my previous efforts in the field called music. The theme is quite loosely based on "goth-tropicalia". I got interested in the idea of blending latino rythms with old goth-rock. Of course it won't be only that, but a bit.

Above you can see how I want my future balcony to look like. Along with that I am going to grow potatoes this summer along with some other stuff I hope. In the future I will grow potatoes and other vegetables in buckets and recycle stuff in cardboard boxes that I ride with my freight bicycle to the recycle station. Gosh, I really do want a freight bicycle!

Oh, you know, one day at work one of the first customer I had payed 274 SEK with 1 kronor and 50 öringar. Not that it bothers me, but it bothers the other people in the line. They started to yell at the customer to go to a bank. Some people are quite troublesome with these coins. I am glad that the Cashguard is doing the counting for me so I can put my thoughts elsewhere. Then my Cashguard wasoverfilled with 1 kronor. Well, the customer got his 10 bags of pizza cheese.

Another customer had accidently grabbed a broken bag of catsand. When I grabbed it myself in order to register the barcode I got around 1 or 2 dl of catsand all over my conveyor belt. Quite weird experience but my conveyor belt smelled of cleaning substance and catsand after that.

Last time I worked I did not only work for 10 hours but I also witnessed a Swedish old lady buying meat that was halal. Yes, we sell tons of interesting products including those that muslims can eat. She didn't knew about Halal so I explained a bit about it. Then, before she left, she jokingly said "Well, we will see if I get turned into a muslim with that meat". Yeah, funny joke by the regular funny customer.

Today I went to see an interesting exhibition by Hanna Al-Haek. A prominent painter in our local culture, as well a provider of exhibitions in other parts of the world, I found his paintings being really great. Interesting colours here and there with some interesting imagery. This exhibition was a kind of anthology since many of the paintings came from different times and dates. It is always interesting to see an artists development, what they have kept and left, added and ignored. There was no certain chronological order. Not that I mind.

I got some interesting books on the read. One is Limits to Growth and another is Kitchen confidential. The first one is an economic book critisizing the belief in unlimited growth. The latter is a memoir book with a kind of reporting on food and cooking that I'd like to call GastroGonzo. Another GastroGonzo book is one called Food Noir by Swedish journalist Mons Kallentoft who blended politics and cookings together. In other word it is absurd reports on food with a lot of non-food elements but food as the primary brick.

The reason I worked so late yesterday was because a workmate asked me. She seemed to have some private problems and I thought that being a nice workmate is worth quite a lot. My workmate is nice to me too and I turned down the offer to work today anyway. Everybody wins. It would be nice if more people could do more things for eachother. I am starting today.

I was in our almost newly finished sauna some time ago.

While other's watch in fear that China's economy gets stronger I have opposite feelings. They have something called Real Kung Fu which is not really fast food as the name we know it but steamed cooked food a la Chinese. I can't wait until the first restaurant opens in Stockholm or here possibly replacing the donkey. Not only is the future fast food techniques exports from China of interest but China (and all of Asia of course) do have a very well developed view on food in and around philosophy in general. A philosophy around food - Like only eating until you're full to 70% - is something we are currently lacking right now. By the way, why in the world do we have to have so many types of candy? Ain't that a bit of a waste of resources? Same with tobacco, perhaps? Waste of resources!?

Before I leave there is a video I want to show you all by the band Knight Music. If you like acoustic-medieval-hiphop by knights you'll like it for sure
