I love how you've portrayed their relationship here. The image of Yusuf feeding orange slices to Eames is both ridiculously adorable and mind-numbingly sexy all rolled into one.

They really are the underrepresented BLATANT ship in the fandom. C'mon, like Eames didnt at least have a bit of a crush on Yusuf? He's obviously attracted to smart people and Yusuf is just the right mix of intelligence and blatant disregard for the law that Eames would find attractive. Lol, sorry, I'm blathering at you now!

As much as I like the idea of Arthur/Eames, I think that there's way more canon support for a preexisting relationship between Eames and Yusuf. Like the scene where he's talking to Cobb and he SMILES THAT RIDICULOUS SMILE?
They so slept together. Don't even try to tell me otherwise.
Plus, I mean, Yusuf is like... so much more laid back than Arthur, which makes him a much better match for Eames. He and Arthur butt heads all the time, and while it's cute to a point, I just see the irritation outweighing any positive aspects in the end.
Yusuf only gets the sharp end of Eames' tongue once ("Too much free champagne before take-off, eh, Yusuf?") and, to me, it's more of an endearment than ~darling ~ will ever be. It's easier for me to take that as a friendly tease than anything he says to Arthur.
Eames and Arthur are just better candidates for hate sex than actual lovers. That's all I'm saying.

THAT SMILE. OMG. And the way his chest kinda puffs up? Like he's proud of Yusuf as a person, like he's Eames' and Eames is excited about showing him off to Cobb in that "look at what I found! Isn't it shiny? Dont you wish you had something special like this?" but obviously not obnoxiously like that (bc Idc what anyone says, Cobb's love for Mal is my definition of OTL even though that is a WHOLE OTHER rant not for this comment box lol ( ... )

Oh, I'd definitely like to read that when you're finished with it! I know what you mean on the whole shipping them like burning thing... I'm such a hypocrite. It's like a fucking addiction and I'm all too aware that it doesn't make any sense and I sort of resent the fandom's preoccupation with A/E and yet I cannot help myself no matter how much I rail against it.
No, they've definitely got an easy sense of familiarity between them. Oh, you know Yusuf is like the ONLY reason Eames is in Mombasa! Epic bromance. ♥

Half of it is up now but the other half is just- asjkhk Idk I've been working on it for a week now but RL is so demanding and Arthur's relationship with Mal is so- and Eames just- and sometimes I think Arthur doesnt have a nice bone in his body- and- and- /hides from it all.
Haha aww, its easy to let the waves and waves of A/E rush over you until your point seems invalid in the wake of two pretty men dancing around how much they want to get in each other's pants. Dont worry, your point will still be there when you're done reading. ;)
