These days we all are terrified by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. I am sorry for the all people who faced a natural cataclysm. Sometimes, we live, travel and rest near the very dangerous places. Some of them even become a popular attractions.

Most important places to remember in the Big Island is the Hawaii's Volcano National Park, where tourists may get a view of the flow of lava from the Kilauea volcano. There are some active eruptive sites include the main caldera of Kīlauea and a more active but remote vent called Puʻu ʻŌʻō. Another place to pay special attention is the astonishingly lovely Mauna Kea. It is the dormant volcano and highest mountain in the world. If measured from the sea base, the mountain is taller than Mt. Everest.
