Several years ago we started replacing the light bulbs in our house with LED bulbs. LED technology had been available for at least a few years before that. I mentioned the other day that rmy anniversary with Hawk was about a week ago. Often we travel to celebrate our anniversary. It's been 5 weeks since we've done a Friday Night Halfway trip. The last one was to Jackson, California- and tonight we're in Jackson again! In fact it's not just Jackson we're staying in as our halfway point, but we're also headed tomorrow to the same all the way spot as 5 weeks ago. Our flights to Charlotte, NC include a connection in St. Louis, MO. Our early morning flight from home left on time, thankfully. It's sad to call that a highlight, but here we are. Oh, but there was another highlight, this one at 37,000' over the eastern Nevada desert....

Last Saturday we hiked to East Boulder Lake in the Trinity Alps wilderness west of Mt. Shasta. As I shared in part 1 of this trip, the climb up to the lake was steep in places but full of views.

A few months ago someone left a pair of pool noodles in our HOA's swimming pool. Y'know, pool noodles, those tube-shaped foam floats that are 4-5 feet long and a few inches in diameter. We made a decision to cancel our travel plans for the Fourth of July weekend. We were going to drive up to northern California and spend 4 days hiking in the Trinity mountains near Mt. Shasta. Now we'll stay home instead. I've even given up Friday as a PTO day. I'll work on Friday instead. 😢
