The new wines are heavy on Zinfandel, with 3 of those. There are 2 bottles of Tempranillo, one ordinary and one a rosé. There's a Pinot Noir, a Syrah, a Petit Verdot (an uncommon varietal!), a quaffable red blend, and a Sangiovese-Barbera blend.
I didn't choose beforehand how many bottles I expected to buy, but overall 10 was a reasonable number. It fits well with how
I've recently drawn down the size of my wine collection below what I consider a sustainable level.
Today, though, I bought 4 more bottles at my favorite local wine store (Total Wine). My wine collection is up to 83 bottles now. ...Well, more like 82 after dinner with friends this evening. 🥂 I'm now above my desired range so I'm putting myself on wine-buying restriction for a while. I figure I won't buy more until sometime in January. Probably after the joint birthday party Hawk and I will have.
