About a week before I earned Million Miler lifetime status on United Airlines (
read blog entry) I also earned A-List on Southwest Airlines for the remainder of 2013 and 2014. A-List is the first tier of Southwest's frequent flyer program and requires earning 35,000 points in a year.
The main benefits I look forward to enjoying as an A-Lister are 1) using the preferred security line and 2) getting to check in earlier so I have a significantly better shot at a low boarding number.
Of course, to my globe-trotting brethren in UA's Million Miler club, earning A-List on Southwest is like earning "Customer of the Month" at your local Wal-Mart store. Sure, it comes with a privileges, but they only apply when you shop at Wal-Mart. ;)
