Jerash, Jordan - Friday, 24 Nov 2017, 12:15pm.
My misgivings about this tour company in Jordan have disappeared. After hours of poor communication about why we were way out in the boonies of northern Jordan we descended into the town of Jerash. Out the windows we caught glimpses of some Roman ruins. At first we thought this would be another drive-by like everything else has been so far today, but then the guide announced we'd stop and visit. Yes!
Jerash was built up when the Roman Empire expanded eastward under Emperor Trajan around 106 CE. The picture above shows Hadrian's Arch, constructed in 129-130 CE to honor the visit of Trajan's successor, Emperor Hadrian.
