One Trip Bleeds Into Another
No sooner did I get home from my trip to Virginia than I was already pulling things together for my next trip- less than 24 hours later. It's like one trip leads to another.... Or perhaps more accurately, one trip bleeds into another. ...Hey, isn't that a song by The Fixx?
Because of my delayed flight in Denver last night it wasn't until after 11pm that I walked through the door of the house. Hawk was still up, which good because it gave me time to share with her more details about my interview trip & negotiations and also discuss packing for our road trip to Oregon and Washington. We're leaving Friday night on a week-long trip.
Hawk was pretty much packed already last night, which was good because it means we can leave soon after she gets home from work this evening. But I still have to pack... and I have almost nothing ready yet!
Fortunately I have time during the day today to get ready, but I'm also spending significant time trying to cinch one job offer and keep the process moving forward on another opportunity. For example, I spent more than 90 minutes on the phone this morning talking to a prospective colleague/boss about a role on his team. It was a great conversation. Now I hope the offer comes through! And soon, because it'd be awesome to start this vacation with a great job offer in play.
