Since I got home last Thursday after approximately three weeks on the road I've struggled to get back in sync. Friday was kind of a blur, though after a long day Thursday I expected that. But then I woke up freakishly early Saturday, Sunday, and Monday-- freakish being at or before 5am-- throwing my daily schedule out of whack. Ordinarily I'd say waking up early like that is because of jet lag coming back from the Eastern time zone... except I never actually synched with the Eastern time zone while I was out East. The previous two weeks I was up until after 1am most nights (after 4am at least three times!) and slept in as late as I could while still being responsible to job and family obligations.
One of the casualties of being out of sync has been not keeping up with this blog. In the past several days there have been so many things I've wanted to write about, but I just haven't had the energy. "If you're up early in the morning, why not write then?" you might ask. I've done that in the past when wrestling with jet lag-like issues. But this time around I'm not really awake early in the morning. I'm unable to sleep and unable to focus my mind, either. After a few hours of half brain dead surfing I've headed off to work. In the evening I crash. Basically I have three states during the day: Asleep, Working, and Zombie. It's not fun.
