[ With the triumphant return of Bones, Kirk is moving inside and outside of House 7. He glances around at the house and inside. Holidays are coming up, and Kirk never celebrated many holidays growing up. Not to mention that most of Earth didn't celebrate some of the holidays that Old Earth did ( Read more... )

[Buffy catches sight of Kirk on his departure just as she arrives with one last box in her arms. Clearly, she didn't waste time on this whole moving in idea.

She peers over the top of the wooden crate, a grin too impossible to stop growing wider as she approaches.]

[ Inspection of the box, Buffy, and again the box. ]

Last one?

[Buffy crouches down and sets the box near the doorway.]

Yep. And I saved the best for last. [Now at a visible angle, it can be seen that there are mostly weapons in this box. A crossbow, some stakes, even a mace.]

[ See, when Buffy said "best for last"... that was not what Kirk was expecting. ]

You really think you're gonna need those still?

Girl's gotta be prepared, Jim. Especially with Drusilla still running around. [She's got a mission boiling, apparently.] She recently tried to play a nasty mind-game with one of the New Feathers.

I... really need to pay more attention. [ Instead of trying to device a clever escape plan. ]

[Hey, clever escape plans are always in demand. Keep up the good fight, Kirk.]

Me too, apparently. I only found out because part of said mind-game was sending the guy to me after telling him I was harbouring a killer with--okay, sure. Maybe I was. Maybe I was technically harbouring two or three of them. But not of the currently-a-killer kind. Drusilla played the victim and actually managed to not try and eat him long enough to be an over-pale undead bee in my bonnet.

[ You'll say that until he ends up running his head into the barrier wall. ]

So, basically, you found out second-hand.

[That'll just mean extra nursing and attention, right?]

Story of my life, Jim. With too many chapters with cliff-hangers and not less than a little dramatic irony.

[ Well, as long as Nurse Buffy doesn't mind being his attending. ]

Mine is about me running my head into a wall until I eventually win.

[Watch out, Kirk. There might be a sandwich overdose involved. And, for lack of cheesy bollywood films, some cheesy novels snagged from the library. Is that really good price to pay for the nurse fantasy?]

I really hope you don't mean that literally, because I kinda like your head in the not-wall-smashed state.

[ He probably won't mind. He ate most of those sandwiches before anyways... ]

Well, there were the times that others smashed my head into a bar table.

Oh, so that's how you ended up looking like this? [She laughs, nudging him with one side of her crossed arms.] Maybe more people should get their faces smashed.

[ Kirk snorts and laughs, nudging her back. ]

And you look the way you do because you stab undead guys in the heart?

Don't forget undead girls. I'm totally an equal opportunity stabber. And the whole running, jumping, tackling baddies to the ground? Great exercise. But, I'll admit...I might not have been thrown against any bar tables, but I've seen way too many headstones in way too much close-up detail.

I am suddenly glad we don't have headstones laying around for you to get knocked into.
