After the storm

We ended up with more snow than was forecast, probably close to a foot. It's heavy and wet too and not fun at all to shovel. Robin did all of the clean-up in the driveway yesterday. She was out at three different times trying to stay on top of it. After I finished work for the day I went out and shoveled out a path to the back of the house and then did the clean-up back there. Shoveling the heavy wet crap off of the deck was a lot of work and I am feeling it this morning. When I finished yesterday I was feeling pain in my leg that I know was really coming from the back so I am pretty sure I aggravated that disc that was giving me problems a couple of years ago. At least that feels ok this morning, I just feel stiff all over. I know that will get better as the day progresses though.

I am definitely not going hiking today, at least not up north. The roads were still a mess at the end of the day yesterday and I did not want to have to deal with what they would have been like early this morning after freezing up overnight. I talked with Alysia and she said they got more snow than expected as well and she also said she was still not feeling well and it was doubtful she would go hiking anyway. There higher summit forecast was also not encouraging with high winds and low wind chills.

I am just going to play it by ear today and see how it goes. I know we still have a little more clean-up to do out front. The temperature is only 18F out there now but is supposed to get up into the upper 30s or low 40s so things should melt a little. It's supposed to be a nice sunny day too so perhaps I will go out for a long walk over at World's End or somewhere else.
