"Wow, what a day today was." Something I told myself walking in on a fresh, interesting seminar on Wednesday. I went into my car, turned it on, and drove my ass home for what would seem like an eternity. (but only 20 minutes). When I came home, it occurred to me that I should write something in my journal that Professor Oyzon would like. So I figured I'd write about the topic, seeing as though that's what everyone else is writing about. The topic was "who are you?" which was pretty vague, and felt kind of like I was creating a 3rd grade proposal to make a friend all over again. Why not give it a shot though? Here it goes:
Hi everyone! My name is Michael Thomas DeJesus. I'm 18 years old, and I live in sunny ol' Rochester, NY. I only live 15-20 minutes away from campus, or an hour depending on rush hour conditions. To list some of my interests. Well, I'm in a band called Spiral Staircase, and shameless promotion never hurt, so I'll just post our website right now: www.myspace.com/spiralstaircase. I've been playing music for the better half of my life, and I've sat around writing countless songs almost everyday on either my guitar, bass, or computer. I tried playing drums so I could have the classic "Dave Grohl" effect, but it's too costly, and I don't like having to make rhythms, I only like nailing the drums as hard as I can and making them sound crazy. I like all facets of music, and find that people who only like one genre tend to be narrow-minded individuals. You can argue with that, but it's my blog, bitch. Some of my other interests are hanging out with my best friends since 4th grade, Chris and Jon. I have more friends, I promise, but they're the ones that I guess have always been there and whatnot. I have 3 younger sisters, and a "mommy and daddy". They're the best, and they mean everything to me. I also have a girlfriend named Vickie who I've been going out with for almost 6 months. She also means everything to me. My family and my girlfriend are the people who prevent me from stressing myself to death. I work at Tops Friendly Markets 5 minutes from my house, max, and I've been working there for a little over a month. I used to work in a warehouse for 45-50 hours a week for about 3-4 months, and I have a ton of stories from that, because it's always something new there. RIT's not that bad so far, I don't really know anyone, so it'll be fun to meet new people, and oddly enough I'm outcasted sort of because I don't live on campus. Everyone else does, phooey. Well, there's my entry about myself, I hope you find it conceited, interesting, and poorly written all at the same time. If you don't, then why'd you read it in the first place?
