The Essence Of the 2006 Winter Olympics

Long hours of exhausting training,

never losing sight of the main goal.

The goal of a round of applause in your honor,

the chance to be adored around the world.

Traveling far and near,

competing with the best,

remembering all the hours and not to mention all of the stress.

But in the end all of the persistence comes down to a fulfilling feeling.

A feeling of joy, pain, and sheer contentment.

A feeling of memories you can never replace,

All because you won an Olympic race.

In the end it’s worth it,

The experience will never be taken back.

Because you competed and overcame the pain,

you now have many memories and have so much left to gain.

The crowd roars when you finish the race,

There is passion in the air that will never diminish,

The passion is what got you started,

And the passion is what will motivate you to finish.
