Do your department chairs let applicants know how they did, or are you forced to wait for the letter?

Did either of you successful SSHRC applicants hear what the cutoff score was for successful submissions? I'm waiting in the states and was hoping to know the cutoff so I could calculate whether I might have been successful - of course, that depends if Canadian applicants ever hear their score at all. Thanks!

I can imagine that's true. For applicants from outside Canada, though, you receive a score out of 30 for your application. Looking at posts from other years, it seems that applicants are told what the cutoff was for receipt of an award. It seems the process for applicants from Canadian schools is very different.

Building on this question, has anybody received the actual letter from SSHRC yet?

When I got my MA SSHRC I received the "Notice of Award" at my home address. I assume its the same for the doctoral SSHRC. I still haven't received anything in the mail yet.. I don't know what's taking so long for it to get here!

do you know whether it's possible to use the cgs doctoral as a VISITING student at a foreign institution for one term of degree?

Dang, I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't know how I did. Maybe I'll pester my programme director.
