End of Year Meme
I'm doing this one a wee bit early... I do it every year and it's cool to look back and reflect.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Moved to Los Angeles.
Wrote a spec TV Pilot.
Took a class at UCLA.
Hiked (lots).
Bought my first brand new car.
Partied like a Rockstar at Les Deux and bumped into Joe Francis, literally.. ew
Sung Karaoke with Christopher Marquette.
Played Ultimate frisbee with Sherriff Lamb.
Performed on the main stage of The Comedy Store on a weekend.
Believed in myself.
It's been a very accomplished year.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
To move to LA. and I did! Now my New Year's resolution for 2009 is to legally change my name, move back to LA legally by August 2009, get a writing agent.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! My very good, beloved friend Jennifer had a baby boy named Everett. I can't wait to see him when I go back to Van.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no. But my brother had a near miss.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just the good ole US of A.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
More money.
An 01 visa.
A job writing for a TV show (preferably mine)

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 19 - the day I moved to LA.
November 4 - the day Obama won.
Thanksgiving - because I had such a great time with Deanna's family. It was so awesome.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Writing my pilot Rockstar.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Having to go back to Vancouver (even though it's not permanent.)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
The usual Crohns crap (pun intended)
And I am pretty sure that there is something seriously wrong with my left ovary. I'm thinking like tumor or endomitriosis wrong. I'll find out when I am in the land of free medical.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Bo, my awesome Yaris!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Alice, bdbdb , toscem and deannaz and of course Sage and littlemswicked . Without all their help I wouldn't have such fond memories of the last 6 months and I wouldn't have accomplished all that I have. :-)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
.I;m going to throw this out there and just say it - even though I know people will be offended. SC really disappointed me this year. He's pretty much a total douchebag now.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Into LA's economy. It's expensive to live down here!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Moving to LA.
Buying my new car.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Shadow of the Day by Lincoln Park.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder?
Happier. MUCH.

Thinner. I lost 11 pounds since moving to LA.

Poorer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
hiking.

Worrying.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I'm alone this Christmas, which if you know me, is a total dream come true. The plan is to hike fryman in the morning. Go to the beach in the afternoon. Eat junk food and watch Queer as Folk on Youtube all night. I'm SO excited! But now it's supposed to rain on Christmas so.... it might just be youtube and junk food.

21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
Jennie and Jack.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
.No. And I think I might be falling out of love. Which is going to suck.
23. How many one-night stands?
Ummm.... none..... technically.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Gossip Girl. And I've been rewatching Queer as Folk and am head over heels in love again.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't believe in hate anymore. Not going to do it. And I don't even think I dislike anyone new.
26. What was the best book you read?
New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. It was my favorite of the trilogy and I think I read it Jan of last year.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Grove Hill. Look them up on myspace - you can download their songs for free. They're great.
I also really like Venice, which bdbdb introduced me to.
28. What did you want and get?
Jack back.
A new car.

29. What did you want and not get?
An 01 Visa and/or green card.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Particles of Truth. technically it's not from this year but I discovered it this year. I absolutely LOVE it.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old?
I went to Hy's with Jack and also went ot bingo with Ian, Jennie, Carol. Jack and Maria. Then I had a dream that I was in a recieving line for the Queen of England and when she shook my hand she said. "Happy Birthday. You're going to die."
I was 36.
32. What would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
And 01 Visa or a green card.
Winning the lottery.
Meeting an American husband... mine not someone else's.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
T shirts. Jeans. Ugg boots.
34. What kept you sane?
Friends.
Trader Joe's Salsa Authentica.
Fryman Canyon.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
GALE HAROLD.
Oh and Rob Pattinson's hair (it's a celebrity in it's own right... or at least it was... R.I.P)
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Prop 8 and the numb nuts that voted for it.
37. Who did you miss?
Alison. Candice. Owen.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Without a doubt ALICE!
