A/N: In the book-verse, CPR (well, when you give someone air) is called the breath of life. Also, Cara calls Kahlan 'Mother Confessor' as a sort of endearment.

“I died once, you know...” said Kahlan one day when she and Cara were looking at the landscape from Kahlan’s bedroom.
Cara raised an eyebrow at the Mother Confessor. “Yeah, and I’m a red mare.”
“No, I’m serious.” Kahlan pointed at one of the hills in the distance. “See that tree there? When I was about six, I fell off it and hit my head pretty hard.”
“Falling unconscious doesn’t mean you died, Mother Confessor,” smirked Cara.
Rolling her eyes, Kahlan continued. “My mother was looking out this every room when she saw something fall out of the tree. She had a feeling that it was me, so she rushed out of the palace without explaining to anyone what she was doing.
“By the time she got to me, I might’ve been died for at least a few minutes. At first she thought I was unconscious, but when she touched me, I was cold. She noticed that my face was a bit blue, and came to the conclusion that I had been choking on something when I fell out of the tree.
“She picked me up and hit my back, hoping that there was enough air in my chest to push whatever was stuck in my throat out. She was right of course, and a piece of apple threw out of my mouth. She then had to give me the breath of life to revive me.”
“How did she know about the breath of life?” Cara asked suspiciously.
“A Mord’Sith taught her,” shrugged Kahlan. “Or that’s what she told me.”
