[for roy] all work and no play

Tabula Rasa, Wednesday patrol, near midnight.

The moon will be full in three nights. Tonight, it lights a night blacker than Gotham's darkest, shines brighter than the close-up floodlight of the Bat-signal. Roy can see easily without protecting his night vision from the occasional well-lit hut. How do I know? He doesn't reach for me blindly to guide him past.

Instead, he reaches for me playfully...rough-housing out of the sheer boredom of night after night of patrol with nothing to do but each other. I Bat at his hands, leap and flip away, flashing catch me if you can in Titans handsign. Also in fingertips plucking the strap across his chest, ruffling his hair, skimming his thigh as I tumble by to the ground.

"Quiet night," Dick says needlessly, to Roy coming down at his back. The most notable thing so far is that there's no domestic disturbance in New Atlantis. Vala's been sleeping more but crankier. Hm. It merits looking into dayside. For now, Dick gives her the benefit of the doubt and moves off toward the Compound, knowing Roy will follow. And not just to get a look at his ass.
