Reese has been keeping his skills honed, doing target practice on a fence in the back garden, and shadow-sparring when he gets the chance. And he might be found in one of the more secluded rooms, punching and kicking at an imaginary assailant, his movements swift and precise, his lean form silhouetted against the large windows.

And just look who happens to be walking past. Manuel stops outside the doorway when he spots Reese, but he doesn't interrupt. (He's looking slightly awed, actually. Reese's sparring is quite impressive.)

After a few more feints and punches, he'll realize he has an audience, and he'll look up. "Been watching for a while?" he asks.

"Only a little while," Manuel says, a touch embarrassed. He still looks impressed though, because Reese is pretty badass.

"Keeping in shape, keeping the skills honed," he says. "Could use a partner, but don't think I'll press-gang you into it: you don't look like the fighting type," he adds, looking Manuel up and down.

Manuel pushes some stray hair out of his eyes. "I know how to fight."

"Well then," he says, making a fist and cupping it in his free hand. "Show me what you've got. Go on and hit me as hard as you can." He's smirking a bit, and there's something dangerous yet almost playful about that smirk.

Manuel moves closer, but he's looking uncertain, like he's not sure if Reese is serious or not.

"Come on, don't be shy: I'm tougher than I look," he says, almost teasingly.

He has utterly no idea what he's getting himself into...

Manuel steps forward and throws a punch at him. It's a decent shot (though we have no doubt Reese will be able to avoid it), but it could be better. It's clear he's had some training, but he could do with a few pointers and a lot more practice.
