Doodlebug's been doing a great job learning to swim. Still swallowing a lot of water, but there's no more fear. Of anything.
Now you have to understand the pool at CMU is at its very shallowest, 2-3 inches deeper than Doodle is tall. So when he jumps off the edge of the pool, he has to have a plan for breathing in the near future. Yesterday his plan was to spin in the air and try to catch the edge of the pool on his way down. You can see the "ka-bonk" coming can't you?
So we told him, "If you do that again, swimming is all done." Sure enough, he did it again. KA-BONK
At the emergency room, everybody kept asking him what happened. He gave absolutely no response. (but that's what parents are for, right)
3 stitches and 3 hours later as we're eating dinner, he makes the comment, Bad jump swimming at Carnegie Mellon.
