Well, actually, I don't need a ticket. And I'm going flying in two weeks! No... not "going through security check points with a boarding pass and ID in hand to sit in a cramped little space they call a seat for a few hours" flying. I mean "four-seater-personal-plane" flying! Oh, this is going to be sooooo cool!
My senior design teammate and her husband owns their own plane. They're both certified pilots. And they're going to take me flying to Boston in two weeks. They're such awesome people. Not just because they're taking me flying, mind you. Just in general... they're such wonderful people. I'm so fortunate to have met and gotten to know them.
I had a phone interview with a big CM firm today. That position is about the same thing I'm doing now. And she said I'm eligible to be on their management-training track. (In 5 years, I'd be an official manager or something along those lines.) This requires a couple relocations. Probably New York or Baltimore/D.C. Maybe Flordia. Or even Canada. The lady mentioned Wisconsin, too. And Texas. It sounds very promising. And I absolutely love the idea of a change of scene. But I don't know if that's right for me. I mean, if I do get an offer from another company, should I switch jobs to something so soon? Or should I stay put with what I've got, at least for another year or so? I don't know. I really don't know. I learn alot at my current job, and my supervisor/advisors are always available to me when I have questions. My hours are pretty flexible, and the people are great, too. What are the chances that I'll get something like this? I know I want to switch companies soon, but would this be too soon?
About 3-4 years ago, I discovered this lady (Jane) at a salon close to campus who works magic with hot wax and my eyebrows. She's amazing. Waxing with her feels like a light pinch. Anywhere else, well... think Steve Carrell in the 40 Year Old Virgin. (Awesome movie, btw.) Since then, I visit her almost religiously every 4-6 weeks or so for "clean-ups". It wasn't bad at all. Between classes, if I had an hour, I'd just take a walk up the block for my appointment. Then early last summer, she moved on to bigger and better things... to a ritzier salon-boutique on the Main Line. And she promised me if I visited her at the new salon, she would provide the same services for the same price. Even if she hadn't given me this offer, I think I would have at least considered following her. But with this deal, there was no question. So now, I make the drive up there every few weeks. Since she started working up there, her regular clientele has grown to include the likes of A/B-list celebrities and their families. I sometimes bump into these celebrities while I'm at the salon for my appointment. I see them and think, "Holy Shit.. it's -----! Act cool!" I nod, say Hi (if anything) and go about my business. If I bump into them as I come in, I usually hear them rave about Jane. Today, when I went in for my appointment, she told me she's being featured on one of the morning local talk shows (Today at 10 on NBC10). They're coming in to do taping tomorrow. Man... in a couple weeks, I'll hardly be able to get an appointment with her anymore! She really is phenomenal, though. After one her facials, I'm so relaxed, and my skin looks amazing.
Well, I should get back to studying. I have one more final exam on Thursday night. I really need to do well on this final. The first mid-term for this class was probably the second worst exam I've ever had. (Only better than the exam that I returned completely blank.) Amazingly enough, the professor said if I do at least okay on the final, I'll get a C for the class. Who would've thought....? (Goes to show that you shouldn't think.)
And then Spring Break begins! Friday I'll be heading to NYC for a Pupe Cheeks Productions. (Hmm... I should make sure this is still going down...). Next week, I'll be slaving over LabVIEW/Senior Design. And then the following weekend is flying.
Okay... back to work.
