Obama's Inauguration
I started doing this on the Facebook/CNN update thing... but the combination of CNN's servers getting bogged down and my laptop being a piece of crap, I figured this was the way to go.

14: Is there a reason why HW Bush and Barbara are wearing matching purple scarves? HW is having quite a hard time walking. I almost feel sad for him. He's got enough money now to pay for a few hip/knee replacements.
17: Bill Clinton probably doesn't realize he's looking so grim on world-wide television. Hillary looks almost radiant. She looks good in blue. I wonder how she's feeling... wondering how it would've been if it were her inauguration, perhaps?
19: Wow... the first smile from Mr. Clinton came after people started cheering for him.
22: Malia and Sasha are SOOOO cute!! Look how perfect Sasha's scarf is?? Malia looks exactly like her Mom. (You'd think I would have noticed that before.)
24: That is one amazing headpiece on Aretha Franklin. Talk about blingin.
26: I love the Obama girls. I can't even imagine their excitement.
31: The contrast between the stiff, conservative, spoon-up-their-asses outgoing First and Second wives w/ the incoming down-to-earth wives are breathtaking. I was thinking about that the other night as I was looking at the past outfits of First Wives. Michelle Obama and Jill Biden are so friggin down-to-earth... talk about salt of the earth kinda people. And they're IN the WHITE HOUSE! What a ground-shaking day.
33: For such a young country, the US has alot of pomp, circumstance and traditions. It's pretty cool.
36: The last time Dubya is announced as president and having Hail to the Chief played for him. Oh Happy Day! I almost feel bad for him... all everyone's about is Obama. Nobody's cheering for Bush at all. Just a smattering of applause for him. I wonder if he feels like crying. Or if he's happy. He's probably delusional.
35: Cheney being in a wheelchair on this day is kinda symbolic. Don't ya think? (I do!)
38: Obama will be swearing on the Lincoln Bible.
39: I can't explain it - just looking at Obama makes me smile and tear up at the same time. He's so poised, confident, calm, genuine... I love his smile. It's a smile you can trust.
43: The crowds are roaring. And chanting for Obama. What craziness!!
50: He wrote the Purpose-Driven Life? What a great book.
51: Obama looks tired. I wonder if he slept at all last night.
52: Wow... he's finishing the Opening Prayer with the Our Father.
53: That is one helluva headpiece Aretha's sporting. In light of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, good pick of a song.
57: Is that Lincoln's Bible that Biden's swearing on?! That is ginormous!!!!! I love Biden's smile - such a genuine smile.

00: Barack Obama just became president; the constituion states his term begins at noon even without oath. And he becomes president listening to "It's a Gift to Be Simple, It's a Gift to be Free" under the name of "Air and Simple Gifts" by Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Anthony McGill AND Gabriela Montero.
05: He just took the oath. Why didn't the Chief Justice John Roberts break it down into shorter phrases? I'm not the one taking office, but I couldn't remember the first part of the phrase by the time he got to the end. It's no wonder the oath got scrambled.
07: And the first time he's announced as President Barack Obama. Thus begins his speech.
08: Quoting scriptures.... it's time to leave childish things behind.
Greatness is never a given - it must be earned.
11: The question isn't whether our government is too big or too small. It's a question if the government works.
16: I wonder if Malia's allowed to post the digital pictures she's taking at the Inauguration on he personal camera.
17: I wonder what Dubya is thinking while listening to this speech. My brother asks... I wonder what he's been thinking for the past 8 years.

Elizabeth Alexander, poet: The poem is good. But I think it was a bit lost with her extreme enunciation.
Benediction: Wow. He's old as dirt. Quoting the Negro National Anthem - it should be renamed to Freedom Anthem. He added some humor to his prayer. Greatness. "where brown can stay around.... where yellow is mellow...."
I can't explain it. I just look at Obama and I feel happy and joyful. It's the most absurd thing.
51: The Bushes are leaving D.C!! What do the Obamas and the Bushes say to each other standing there, minutes after Obama implied short-comings of Bush's presidency?
53: It's really cool how the Obama's are escorting the Bush's to the helicopter. Did anyone else notice the difference in the way the Obamas hug people and the way the Bushes hug people.
56: VERY cool how Obamas and Bidens stood and waved the Bushes off.
