Dodging Gun-Fire...

So, I was working yesterday night at City Hall.  Around 3AM, the guys were wrapping things up and loading their truck that were parked on the street.  As Eddie (one of the guys) was floading up their spotlights, we heard two bangs and then what sounded like metal hitting the truck.  We looked at each other, not knowing what to think.  I thought he hit the light or something, but he ducked and told me to get down.  After a few minutes, we look up and see this black guy on a bicycle booking down 16th Street, keeping his head low.  In his rush, he dropped the red t-shirt that was tucked in his back pocket right in front of us.  A couple minutes later, we see another black guy jogging/waddling on the sidewalk, with one hand in his pocket and the other holding his pants up as he ran.  That was kinda funny.  Arnold, Eddie and I just stood there and watched, our jaws to the floor.  (Literally.. we were on the floor.)  We get up and check the truck, but didn't find anything.  About 20 minutes later, we see the guy who was running on the bicycle, coming from the direction they had gone earlier.  He was like, "Yo, I got my bicycle back!"

My question is: what did he have to do to get his bicycle back?

violence, work
