Apartment hunting!

I looked at a few places today. It's between two, really. One was this awesome, spacious place in Silver Lake in a nice neighbourhood with a GREAT view of downtown. Like, seriously amazing view. The downside: among the hipsters ( Read more... )

It sounds to me from your replies to the other comments that you're talking yourself into the sunset and vine place.

You know what my choice would be - I like my space.

Not necessarily, but I just don't want to discount it for space and parking purposes only (especially considering that the other one isn't too small except for the kitchen). Location and nearness to work matters as well. Plus, it's access is inside a 1930's art deco building. I like having to go into a building to get to my apartment.

However, the kitchen is rather small and the view is not exciting. Part of it also boils down to kitchen vs. bathroom. hehe

Ah well. I can understand that any self-respecting modern woman would want to choose a decent bathroom over a kitchen.

But still...VIEW! And I have to tell you that I'm imagining the Silver Lake place as being like Cordy's apartment. Does it come with resident ghost, by any chance?

Here are the two ads:

Hollywood

Silver Lake

The Silver Lake photos do NOT do justice to the view. It's odd, that. One would think the AMAZING view would be a focus.

The kitchen vs bathroom thing... I know. Like, I mean, good kitchen space, but dude -- nice, hot shower with good pressure

Try, try and try again 'Nera - you got the links right eventually! (it just shows you've been away from lj for too long)

They do both look nice and are a big improvement on your little flat I visited in London. And look! Pets are allowed!

I know. Apparently I am in dire need to get back into the lj swing. I am though. I forgot how I missed it. Don't know what happened, yo!

Apparently since the Silver Lake one had some leakage issues from the recent rain (rains too little here so we don't know about this till it does), it smelled quite musty from water. Paul and I did not even notice it from our London flat experiences. hehe

My mom won't let me have Puma anymore. She fears her dog is too attached, so if I wanted a cat I would have to get another one. Not sure how I feel about that. :/

"My mom won't let me have Puma anymore."

You poor girl - you must feel so conflicted. I almost didn't marry John on our wedding day because it meant leaving my cat (which John had given me) behind as our new home was unsuitable for her. Doing the right thing can be so very hard.

I know! Puma is almost 18 now as well. It's partially why I didn't mind living at home. Puma is here. Actually, she is here right now sleeping. Aww.

Anyway, oh well. Paul and I have called the manager at the Craigslist. Due to our car revving like mad yesterday while in park, we cannot drive up today. He said that the offer for a free month of rent was still available up until Tuesday. So we have a couple places in West Hollywood/Fairfax (across from my work) to look at before we choose. Pets are not a factor since I cannot take Puma.
