After a full 21 hours of travel... I have returned from Australia... Sooo much crazy stuff happened so I'll outline it briefly! Sydney is really expensive. They have a totally beautiful city with really nice people and people how box in the parks during thir lunch break. Everyone pretty much has waterfront property so there's lotsa nice houses everywhere. We rented an apartment and basically did what all tourists do... SHOP WOO! Opera house is gorgeous. While there:
Koala! I got to feed and pet koalas, wombats, kangaroos and other fuzzy creatures haha. Went to Bondi beach... and a nude beach. Went to the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere. For our last night, we ate contemporary Australian food: Kangaroo steak, crocodile won tons, emu tederloin and emu pate. Kangaroo=beef, Crocodile=chewey chicken (gross), emu=beef+tuna. Weird stuff. Also ordered my first alcoholic drink which is perfectly legal in Australia(18!).
Next, we went to Cairns (pronounced "cans" in the Aussie tongue), where we had another apartment right next to the water. So pretty :). So we traveled in a 2 hour ferry ride to the Great Barrier Reef. I tried this underwater scooter thing which was really cool... then scuba diving while touching huge and colorful fish! Went white water rafting in a huge gorge with British "Uni" girls(college... they thought college was a weird thing to say). It was at this moment that I finally could distinguish British and Aussie accents. Ahh.. closure.. anyhoo my accent got really good at this point and confused people for fun haha. It was kinda instantaneous too cause you're always surrounded by it so you just pick-it-up. I can now speak fluent aussie language... cept some of the slang is just kinda silly.
Anyhoo! Went to Melcourne next... another sweet apartment haha. Went to see the Penguin parade where "Little penguins" march from the beach at dusk all the way to their holes. No photography cause they throw-up their food from the flash :(. The cool part was that it is a totally natural occurence. Next, went to the 12 Apostles which are natural stone land masses right off the shore. Kind of like pieces of the land that broke-off but are still just as tall. Pretty neat indeed. After, went to the biggest Casino in the Southern Hemisphere. 18 means you're an adult. So I gambled for the first time at a slot machine and lost a dollar. I learned my lesson :(.
I think that's it.... actually there's a lot more but it could go on for pages and pages haha. I'll tell you guys more if I see you :). Good to be back in all, 'cept I only have a single week left of summer :(. I have to meet with sooo many people and do soo many things this week so please gimmie a call before I never see you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Actually probably just for a long while.. but still! Important!!!)
