Definitely on the gorgeous cat. I'd love to see more photos!
Good to hear he has a mistress - well, gorgeous that he is, I'm sure he'd have several cats at his beck and call.

Fantastic place to stay... sorry of course you did say before (my brain!), great location, I love Russell Square area. I'm actually staying about a mile north of there up near the Canal (in a one-bedroom place) for the month that I'm there, and a big attraction was it being on that side. I was in Kensington last year, and while the place was nice (on Hereford Square), I really like the N1 and Central area a bit more. So walkable!

Yay on catching up with people. I've never met Caz or Lenozzed, but I'm sure they'll be marvelous, and BMG (who I do know in real life) is a hoot and just lovely!

Nah, on the nerve thing. I guess I have a few things to say. One is that over the years that I've been doing a LOT of travelling, I've discovered that travelling for a reason is a far cleverer and more meaningful reason, than just randomly visiting somewhere. It does give it purpose, and in a funny way that's connecting with people too. I mean there are 15 people on my LJ list that I've met in real life and whatever drew us together (D/D in the case of BMG, MDD and Sykira), it's actually just who we are as people and our interactions that are interesting... that's just a springboard. In the same way as seeing a play that you really want to see is a brilliant way to experience London. Really, there is virtually no better reason! I think the harder vacations for me over the years have been to plan a vacation for no good reason at all. I've nearly never enjoyed them, I often haven't met up with people I know, and it's been far less meaningful in terms of one central thing giving it a bit of perspective! Also, if it makes you feel any better, I planned a two and a half month Australian Government-funded research trip to the UK basically around MAAN (oh not that I won't be doing research as well, of course!)... so, yeah!

And I honestly think that this is the case for almost everyone that I've spoken to who is coming a-ways for the play. I mean if you live in or near London you might go there to just go to a play with people in it that you like or love, but traveling all of that way, everyone that I have spoken to has been nearly as excited about that aspect! Truthfully I know that catching up with MDD and BMG and Cythera999 is nothing to do with Doctor Who, it's about catching up with great people, you know? Who happen to like the D/D stuff and want to see a play with actors that they like in it.

So... is it normal, healthy, meaningful? Completely and utterly!!!
