Ennis had allowed Alma Jr. to stay for a little while, keep some healthy distance from Mark. It seemed like the boy was here all the time, calling after her, even once sleeping over on the pull-out. She nodded her head, moving to find her perfume and then something to occupy herself while he got ready. Biting her bottom lip, she opened the door and stood looking out at the world.

In just a little while, she was going to be married. She licked her lips, playing with her ring while she waited.

Ennis had looked, but he didn't really own nothing nicer. So he wore his hat, a button-up shirt with vertical blue stripes, and a belt inexplicably held together by an old rodeo buckle over his Wrangler jeans. Sighing, he figured he looked good enough to aid and abet, or some such mess, and he walked past her without really looking to start his truck.

"Y'sure about this, Junior?" he asked, calling out over the roar of the engine.

She grabbed her purse and her jacket as he walked past, then she shut the door and hurried after him. Opening the passenger door, she laid the jacket down on the seat and then hopped up. Glancing over at him, she tilted her head with a little bit of a smile, "Yes daddy, I'm sure."

"I just hope he don't mind that I asked to get eloped." She settled back for the drive.

He laughed, shaking his head as he threw the sonuvabitch truck into gear.

"Shoulda known this was your damn fool idea."

And the whole way to the Town Hall, all he could think was how Jack and her would get along with their damn fool ideas.

She flashed him a pretty smile, "Well, we were joking about it but then I told him that I'd much rather elope than do the whole fuss of a wedding."

She got a little more fidgety, the closer they got to the Town Hall. Once they parked, she pushed open her door and slid out of the truck. Brushing her hands together, she looked around for Mark.

She knew he would show up as long as his dad didn't stop him.

Mark's small(ish) car whipped into the drive, parking not too far from Alma and her pretty dress. He had stolen his daddy's suit which made him feel old and a little skinny as he couldn't even fill out the shoulders of the damn thing. It weren't like his daddy were a particularly big man.. Mark was just scrawny he guessed.

His eyes swept over Alma as he got out of his car, but he turned to Mr. del Mar first, holding out a hand to shake.

"Thank y'so much, Mister del Mar. You've got no idea how much this means."

Ennis shook the boy's hand firmly, other hand on his hip - itching to touch that damn old buckle.

"Reckon I got some," he said softly, smiling at his daughter before looking up at the big white building.

Alma was gonna kill him. And not Junior first.

As Mark whipped into the drive, she smiled brightly at the sight of him, still nervous but she was glad to see him. She found the suit to be a little cute, it was bigger than he was but he still filled it out quite nice.

She stood back as the men shook hands and then she smiled over at Mark, "Do ya got the license?"

"Sure do," he said, not able to keep the cheer off his face as he pulled it out of the jacket to show her.

He bit his lip, thinking about how great she looked but felt a little weird saying anything in front of her daddy so he just took her arm and began walking towards the steps.

She smiled as he showed her the license, "Okay good."

Walking up the steps beside him, she smiled softly as she looked him over, "You look good." She lifted a hand, brushing at his shoulder lightly and then she looked back at her Daddy with a smile.

Ennis shook his head bemusedly, shoving his hands in the pockets of his worn jeans. Even if Alma were gonna kill him, it was worth it to see them kids smile. She would have to understand... wouldn't she?

He trailed behind the happy couple, trying to be supportive.. but it weren't exactly his forte. When Jack found out about this next week, he was gonna laugh so hard.

"S-so do you," he said with a bit of a blush, leaning over to kiss her cheek. This was all he'd ever wanted since he met this girl...

She knew that her Ma was going to have a fit but she would rather be doing it this way. Smiling softly at Mark, she blushed as he stammered a bit and she took the kiss on the cheek. "Thank you."

When they got inside, they talked to the secretary and then waited till it was their turn to get called in.

Mark was practically jumping out his skin he was so excited. A little nervous, but not too bad. He meant everything he ever said, especially when it was to Alma del Mar.

"That's us," he hissed, and obviously she knew that but... God, he was gonna be a husband.

Some of Mark's excitement was starting to rub off on her, calming some of her fears as they waited. When they were called, she looked at Mark as he hissed at her which made her giggle softly. "Yes, it is." She kissed his fingertips.

Walking into the office, she bit her bottom lip as she looked at her Daddy and then reached for his hand.

Ennis blinked, taking Junior's hand after a minute and following them inside. He sure hoped he didn't have to say nothin.
