The last few days had been rough, to say the least. Not that he had that much more reason than normal to complain, but having an added tailspin of weird heaped onto his and Daphne's relationship was pretty far down the list of things he had been preparing himself to deal with. At the mispronunciation of her name, Presta snorted in horsey indignation, her eyes fixed on Matt in a steely glare. This was the scene that Daphne happened upon on her way back to her hut. Man -- or Matt, rather -- versus beast. The safer bet, she thought, was on Presta.

After three days as a man, she was taking the day to enjoy her feminine side. Her hair, freshly washed, was swept up into a surprisingly elegant updo and she was dressed in a simple white wrap dress that covered her scars.

Suppressing a smirk, she waved at Matt, hoping to catch his attention. "Over here," she called out, the red heels she wore making a distinctive click-click-click sound against the boardwalk.

"Oh thank God," Matt breathed in a rush the instant he heard Daphne's (yes, Daphne's) voice. He was so relieved that he didn't even feel annoyed at losing his staring contest with the horse as he turned sharply in the direction of her voice. She was a woman again, that was all that mattered at the moment.

...and boy, was she ever.

"Hey, Daph," was all he managed to come up with, eyes a little wide.

"I'm a real girl again, Geppetto!" she exclaimed with a touch of sarcasm, clapping her hands together and spinning as she walked. For someone who couldn't walk without assistance for most of her life, Daphne was remarkably coordinated.

She sure was.

"I see that," Matt said, a grin that bordered dangerously close to 'goofy' territory spreading on his lips. "You seem to be, uh, taking advantage of it nicely."
