I'm so glad my mother called tonight, or I might have napped until the wee hours of the morning! My practicum is kicking my butt, but only physically. It's hard to believe I worked full-time for three months when two six-hour days are grinding me down. Still! Life is pretty good right now.

1. All of you remember Scorp's wonderful Ladies of TVD comment fic fest, right? jacyevans was awesome enough to fill my prompt (Jenna, Finally finding out what's really beeing going on in Mystic Falls) and wrote the gorgeous careful consufion (is a thin disguise).
I lovelovelove how she writes Jenna, as aware, as paying attention. I'm behind on show and I have no idea if they've covered that plot line yet, but this is really marvelous!

Donc! Je me suis achetée une double-drabble de cet auteur pendant help_nz et je me suis retrouvée quelque jours plus tard avec cinq-cent mots d'adorable en sa place. (Ca m'a pris pas mal d'essais a m'apprendre a prononcer "Conanoplatiputalis"!)

Battlestar Galatica, Dee and Laura, intersections.
(Yes i_paint_the_sky, there is also Laura/Bill for you to squee over.)
My heart! Some of you already know that Anastasia Dualla is my forever girl and pairing her with Roslin late in canon is fascinating and lovely. I wish that this had happened in canon, that this connection had been made manifest at all.
4. Honey and the Hive Queen by bree-black
Supernatural, Jo/Madison, other minor characters.
So basically, this story is everything I love best about fandom: women being awesome with other women and more minor characters than even I could shake a stick at. So come help me shake sticks and watch Jo, Madison, Ash, Henriksen, Pamela, and the rest of the gang try to reconnect in Heaven with their loved ones and fight the angels, who aren't so keen on this plan. There's a podfic recording of this story too, but as I haven't had the chance to listen it yet, I can't rec it either way.

A coming-of-age story for Cassie, with wonderful, quirky, entirely in-character interactions and dialogue between the two women.

Farscape, John/Aeryn.
Sexy, sexy, sexy. The vidder supplements the clips of John and Aeryn actually having sex, or suggesting sexuality, with some surprising choices, but it all comes together to form an incredibly sensual vid.
2. Tentacles vidlet by bironic
Stargate: Atlantis, John, Ronon, Zelenka, Jennifer. Not entirely safe for work.
Speaking of sensual! I hadn't even thought to read the episode this way, but I'll be damned if this isn't beautifully evocative. I love that there's no music; all we get are the images on the screen and the sound of breathing. Watch this even if you don't know the fandom!

Stargate: Atlantis, John/Ronon crack vid.
Since we're already talking bironic and I've already mentioned Soccer Practice, here's the link. I'M STILL NOT SICK OF THIS. My favourite moment is at 1:28, but there are so many to choose from in this second, hilarious example of "How to Bend Canon to Your Will".
4. Damon Salvatore Meets Meg Masters (link to YouTube) by AlinaJensen.
The Vampire Diaries/Supernatural. Gen.
The narrative flow is a bit choppy, but the vidder has editing the individual scenes together really nicely, even going to the trouble to make sure that things like backgrounds match-up. Also, Meg is amazing in it and there's needs to be fic about this meet-up RIGHT NOW.
5. I Fell Out of Heaven by reliand
The Vampire Diaries/Supernatural, Damon/Anna.
On general principle, Anna is way too awesome for Damon, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy this vid.
The "not a fanwork" category. Mostly.
1. Battlestar Galactica Replica Double-Tanks for sale.
They look awesome! Would that I had the fifty dollars to spend. Then I could be a pilot any day I wanted!
2. This is what happens when you mix Potassium Chlorate and a Gummy Bear. (I'm sure that yubsie could explain exactly why, even if I can't.)

Uncharted music video by Sara Bareilles. It's a nice song and while the vid is celebrity-studded, it's in such a goofy, down-home way that it's really endearing. Everyone looks like they're having a lot fun!
