I accidentally a fanmix?
The Righteous Woman (Raised from Perdition): A Jo/Anna Supernatural fanmix AU
This was based on a long, lovely prompt that I fully intended to write a ficlet for until the moment I started building a playlist. I played around with the tone and musical styles quite a lot and had a nearly-completed mix almost twice this length, but I couldn't find a way to end it organically. I wanted Anna and Jo to be at least more or less on the same page by the last song, but struggled to bridge all of the narrative gaps. There needed to be complication on Jo's part, which was one of the main sticking points. I didn't want this to be easy for her, nothing but sweetness and air after she'd just come back from Hell, but the torturer!Jo song I'd slotted in wasn't the best possible fit with what followed and I couldn't get the rest of that tone in without having to take out Apocalypse Lullaby, which I was pretty set on by that point. Instead, I scrapped several songs to simplify the narrative and the tone, bumped Providence and Apocalypse Lullaby next to each other and slotted in Honey from the list of possible closers. The darks aren't as dark as I'd intended, but I think the mix works better this way!
