To those of you who've signed up for rare fandom 'thons: is it a bad idea to sign-up for fandoms whose canon I don't know very well? Right now, the thought is "It's okay! I can play catch up and watch/re-read!" but realism tells me that this might not be the best plan. Thoughts?

I have to admit, my first thought upon seeing your head-shaving-in-July tweet was, "Oh no, what if you get a sunburn on your scalp!"

And hey, yes! You've had experience with this! How long do you reckon before it got long enough that I could cut it into a recognizable style, if it came to that?

Also, I have this mental image of you as Jess, so my first reaction was like, "omg, that'd be so much hair to shave off!"

Hee, that's what most LJers tell me. I've actually got wavy red hair in a shaggy, short style.

The whole dancing thing sounds fantastic. Never danced myself, but as an audience member I love Contemporary.
Also, the White Collar mid-season premiere was fabulous. El was so bad ass. And Neal and Peter. Tim Dekay did such a great job. I LOVE THOSE CHARACTERS.

Yes, agreed about being the audience for Contemporary. I feel a little bit in love with Mia Michaels' choreography on SYTYCD and jumped at the chance to try the style here because of it.
How is the chemistry between them so good? HOW?

Shaving your head sounds pretty awesome, tbh, but Idk, your concerns about getting a job are really valid as well so /o\ (lol I also have this mental image with you as Jess xD)

You may be able to turn it to your advantage, if it adds personality to you when you're in interview. For example, if you did it as part of an awareness campaign.
Hooray for being done your paper!

Pretty much for charity, except rather than for raising money, the visual aspect is there to provoke questions, which gives you a chance to explain about the cause. Movember began as this, I believe. Fund raising works just as well, though!
Point is, at least as far as the work part goes, you can do it, and have it say something good about you. In that context, it could work for you, and not against you.
