Wow, this is amazing character fic.... I got so sucked in that when I realized I was at the bottom I whined. Out loud. I could read endlessly about Sam at this age, at Cam, too - but you also managed a perfect wrap up. I really, really love this. Do you mind if I rec it on my journal?

This is fantastic!!! I love the idea of them being Academy buddies!! So cute and adorable! I love how Cam's still smart but Sam's like a super genius! Their interactions are perfection and I want mooooreeeee of their adventures back in the day!!

There's a story floating about that that's what Tapping and Browder decided the backstory was for their characters. I'm really glad you enjoyed exploring it as much as I did :D That's also exactly how I wanted Mitchell to come across, so I'm glad to hear it worked!

Her head shoots up, dread falling into the pit of her stomach like a rock.

“Woah. Woah, woah, woah. I am not hitting on you, cross my heart, swear to God,” says Cam, his own eyes wide, like he hadn’t quite thought that one through before he’d said it. “I know that you have enough bullshit to deal with and I would never presume so far above my station.”

She never remembers it in more than mortifying, disjointed snatches of memory. Cam is too much of a gentleman to bring it up directly, but isn’t above making kissy faces at her when he wants to win an argument.

*snickers* I love you're characterization of Cam in here - at once both gentlemanly and childish. You've hit the nail perfectly. :)

(I don't think that Cam would ever tell the kissing story to SG-1 unless she did first, in which case, Cam would be MORE THAN HAPPY to corroborate it. Sam confessed it to Vala, once, who pestered her for all the details she could remember.)

Screeching with glee. This is everything I love about Sam and Cam: the teasing, the competition, the fact that their friendship is just so easy. Them being buddies at the Academy is one of my favorite behind-the-scenes tidbits and I wish it had at least been mentioned on the show. Thank you for this!
