knights & wedding
I’d really have loved to go to Germany with pin_up_666 and blackred_undead this weekend to attend the medieval event / knight’s tournament at castle Broich. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take Friday off because too many co-workers are already on holiday. Also, I had completely forgotten about the wedding I am invited to. I don’t know why I was so sure it would be in September when it really is in August. *sigh* So even if I’d been able to get Friday off I couldn’t have gone. :-( Oh well, there are still two neat events to come in September and they’ll be much nearer to Switzerland in the south of Germany. Our preferred knights sadly won’t be there but Saltatio Mortis will. I haven’t seen them live with their acoustic show yet, which they will be playing at the two events in September. I hope I'll manage to get to one of these events.
I hope the weather will be better on Saturday as the wedding is outside, both the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony will take place at the little “Temple d’Amour” in the park of Château Hauteville and the reception (if I remember right) in the castle’s court. I really want to dress in my 1920s garb for this event, I hope it will be warm enough and not damp, my shoes wouldn’t like the wetness, they’re suede and vintage 1920s. If it’s raining, I’ll dress in 1950s style because I can wear sturdier shoes with this look. Thank goddess this wedding is not a formal affair!
