Quick update before I help with the Christmas dinner, festivities, and screaming babies (we're having it early since my half siblings leave this weekend):
I played all the Wii sports games with Andrew, Cheen and Ryan at Ryan's a few days ago. That's one hot gaming system. I want to play Zelda on it eventually.
Went to the Chihuli exhibit in Coral Gables with my dad and April. Very nice placement of his art in the gardens. I was going to buy a mini wala-wala, but the store closed. Darn, I could've said, "Check out my Chihuli wala-wala." lawl.
Went to the Panthers vs Rangers game. They won after being down 2-0 after the first two periods! I started a "Lets go Panthers" chant. I saw James there and he gave up his front seat to sit with me up in nose-bleed country. That lucky guy has season tickets and access to the oxygen bar! I didn't even know the place had an oxygen bar. AIso, I heard two men speaking Finnish and was tempted to say something to them, but they turned in another direction.
I was going to wear my Islanders jersey, but I gave it to April to wear while I wore my Panthers jersey. I counted the smirks and the associated look that people shot at the jersey: 3 from Panther fans and 5 from Ranger fans.
I miss living on Long Island and Finland. Kentucky not so much. But I love Florida so it's ok.
Read an entire Music Industry book that isn't published in a hardcopy version yet. My dad bought and printed out the whole thing. Also I read the latest All You Need to Know about the Music Business as recommended by one of the MEISA speakers last semester. I knew most of it, but it made me more interested in the legal aspects, especially copyrights. I wouldn't recommend that book though--it's very shallow. I use it as an introduction to topics to research on my own. I have to remember to check out the Music Law Conference again next semester. It's not advertised very well.
I made up another violin part to one of my Dad's songs. Hopefully, we'll record on Tuesday. He's been reading up on all the recording strategies and continuously improves his songs. He just burnt what he thought was the final copy again, but we just came back from Sam Ash with another Recording magazine, haha. I was playing some of his cool basslines and noticed that one song had a D lower than the open E string so I drop tuned. Pretty bad ass.
Also at Sam Ash: bought "professional" earplugs, checked out the effects pedals, and then talked to a guy slap bass-ing on this $700 dollar bass. Seriously, nobody would help us until we started touching the expensive instruments. Then 2 employees rushed to us only for us to put away the guitars and ask where the earplugs were. teehee.
I haven't played classical violin in so long. Bach Partitas and Wieniawski's Legende were requested as an after Dinner serenade.
I'm gonna go play with my CryingPoopingPeeingZOMGEXPLODing nephew and then the Hey-Why-Wont-You-Let-Me-Stick-My-Fingers-in-Electric-Sockets,Paper-Shredders,and-Vacuums, you-muthatruckaa? toddler my Mom takes care of. They're pretty funny.
