Isanami watched in fascination as Sasuke and the owl seemed to silently communicate to one another before the owl flew off. Sasuke's eyes followed the owl's movements until it disappeared within the forest before turning to Isanami.
A smaller owl sat upon his forearm and Isanami reached out to scratch behind its head, grinning as it let out a happy chirp. Sasuke held his arm out and the owl jumped towards Isanami, landing lightly on her shoulder before rubbing its head softly against her cheek.
A light blush began to appear on Sasuke's cheeks and Isanami grabbed his hand, pulling him closer. "She's just amazing. And you took such good care of her while I was gone. Thank you."
Sasuke could only nod, but Isanami was pleased that he didn't try to pull away from her. Leaning against his shoulder, she sighed happily. It was good to be home again.
