The clock ticks away steadily, monotonously.
Yuuki can feel Zero's breath on her neck, can feel the way his arms shake as he tries to steady himself against the wall. She has never been more aware of the difference in their height as Zero hunches over her, attempting to fight the cravings.
Yuuki places a gentle hand on his side, silently urging him to give it, to bite, to drink. She can feel the change in the atmosphere when his fangs protrude. Her breathing hitches, but she is not afraid. Zero breaks the skin on her neck and Yuuki clutches his arms for stability.
The familiar feeling washes over her and Yuuki attempts to steady her breathing. Zero's arms fall from the wall, gently holding her up and Yuuki is grateful. Her legs are beginning to get a little unsteady. The sensation of the blood rushing to her head makes her dizzy and Yuuki can no longer concentrate on anything beyond the way Zero is holding her.
She absently wonders when the clock stopped ticking.
