*cough* *cough*

Today I am thankful for heating pads. I often sleep with my king sized heating pad. It's not the best one in the world (it has a flakey auto-off feature) but it's big and it is perfect to warm my feet on cold nights, soothe girls cramps and warm sore muscles. My cold seems to be turning into some sort of upper respiratory infection so I am in bed with a compress on my chest with castor and eucalyptus oil, covered in plastic and topped with my heating pad. It's working really, really well and I'm hoping it's drawing any infection out. If I try and talk, I just cough and cough though.

So, I'm sitting here watching hours and hours of the Cooking Channel (not the Food Network, the other one, where it's just cooking shows) with my heating pad and laptop. Ugh. I just feel like crap. I should try to sleep but I have problems taking naps.

Last night, Phoenix stayed up late because he was drawing pictures while he was laying in bed. Then he called me and asked how to spell Makaela (a girl in his class). I went in and he was writing love notes! Oh jeez, he's only 5... and, where did he learn that? His little note said "I luv u Makaela" and then, in his kindergarden spelling, he wrote that he want's her to come to his house, in his sister's room. There were hearts drawn all over the page. So cute but I have to wonder what this girl thinks of him. He seems to be quite the little lady's man - he has several little girl friends.

phoenix, sick
