Day 84 - Normal day.

Mar 25, 2010 23:01

So, today I had this goal of hitting a PR (personal record) for words written in one day. I did get my homework done but, with Ethan at work all day and then coming to bed early. I only got a tiny bit done. I really need to get some writing in tomorrow if I want to hit my goals for the month.

Besides homework, I just hung out with the kids, made a little dinner, wasted far too much time on forum and tried to find out more information about going to UW. It looks like I need four prerequisites to get into the creative writing department, so that's not too bad. The crappy thing is that I'm going to have to go through the entire application process again.

UW's application process is pretty extensive too. I have to go through all my classes at former colleges and determine what they are equivalent to at UW. They have the community college's equivalencies right online but not other University's. WSU and SMWC did this for you so I want to see if UW does too.

I made a call the the English department advisor to speak with them about what I should be focused of to get into the creative writing major (it a competitive bachelor's program). I also called the UW counseling to see if I can get an appointment there to figure out if this is right for me and where I fit according to my credits.

We had a good dinner tonight. I made spaghetti (super easy) but it had this (local, organic) smoked tomato sauce that I really liked. I need to order more food every week though. It's not enough to last us to the next week. I just didn't want to order too much at once. I still need to go through the pantry, fridge and freezer to determine what we should toss and what can be kept (and thus, used). I just don't want to order a bunch more stuff that we are never going to use.

Oh, earlier today, I was putting Scarley down for her quiet time and I turned on her princess CD and danced with her. She was laughing so hard because she thought it was so much fun. It was great. Little kids laughs are the best. Once she was down in hr bed. I did some work-book stuff with Phoenix.

I got him this Kindergarden curriculum workbook to hone his skills over the summer so that he might be able to get into kindergarden a year early. The only stuff he doesn't know is telling time and counting money. He knows how to sound out words, read basic sight words, he's really good at patterns, he's pretty good at writing words and can even figure out the spelling of some stuff. He's really getting there, I just wonder if it's enough to get him into kindergarden early. I guess a lot will hvave to do with his emotional readiness and class size.
