Day 57 - My Phoenix man.

Feb 26, 2010 22:41

Phoenix made a whole lego space ship today with absolutely no help. He even put the stickers on all by himself and they look great. The lego set was intended for 7-12 year olds and he did it all on his own - he's 4! It even has gears that had to be assembled for a sliding door. He is just amazing.

It was actually really nice because it kept him quite and busy (and his brain active) for a long time today and last night. Then, when he was done he didn't even want TV on because he wanted to play with it. I feel like we should by him lego sets every week! I did take a picture of him with it but I'll have to post it later.

I went to the eye doctor today and I was going to get new frames but all their glasses were super boring. All of there had wild sides but were just normal black from the front so, who cares? So, I'm just getting new lenses. I am getting some reading glasses though (and those are the most wild pair they had - and they are just a dark pink) so I'm hoping that'll help with reading and computer time to avoid the headaches. Considering I'm on my computer or reading at least six hours a day - I'd say it was worth it. The glasses woman was totally like - well you'll only be wearing them once in a while and I explained that I was a college student and I'm probably reading or on the computer about 50% of my day. She was shocked. But come on, look at techie people - they are totally on the computer a ton.

I have all my homework finished that is due today (and I checked in on my grades - currently my lowest grade out of my three classes is a 96%) but I do have three essays left to do. I think I'll do two tonight (I hope) and one tomorrow in hopes that I can get them all edited tomorrow night and turned in all perfect on Sunday.

Oh, one last thing, you know the worst pain in the world? Having your hip slip out of the socket. LOL. Lately I haven't been crossing my legs because it's a pulling feeling in my hip and it doesn't feel good. Well, last night I had taken my pain meds and was laying down and feeling okay but, if you lay down in the same position for a long period of time, your body gets bored and wants to move - and mine did by crossing my feet without my head noticing. Then, I felt this horrible feeling of a sliiip - slower than a snap but fast enough not to do anything about of it. The sliiip was my him popping out of the socket. I honestly don't know if it was a full or partial dislocation but, does it mater? I've had it happen on my right hip several times and know the way to move to get it back it the socket. It hurts like hell and freezes up but, once it's back in the socket, it's only a little sore. But, this is the first time it's happened really unprovoked and on my bad hip. It hurt more than I can put into words. So I started yelling at my husband because I had my mini laptop table over me and I couldn't move my hip to get out from under it, nor could I bend my knee (because that would rotate my hip). So I was just yelling, help me! help me! Get the table off of me! Seriously, if it had been another second, I would have just tossed the whole thing off me. So, Ethan ran around the bed and got the table off me and I swung my legs over the side of the bed and sort of rotated my pelvis so the ball went back in the socket. Immediately I felt like I was going to throw up. I was rolling around because I wanted to lay on my side to alleviate my nausea but my hip hurt so bad I couldn't. It was a horrible, horrible feeling. And, now I'm scared to death it'll happen again so I'm laying in bed and every time I readjust I actually manually push/pull my leg firmly into the socket. I can't wait until next Thursday when I see the new ortho who knows about hypermobility. :(
