I've always felt like Valentine's Day should be a day that you spend time with those you love. I don't feel it's a gift receiving holiday nor do I feel like the day is intended for only romantic love. So, we make plans every year to do something special as a family. This year we went to a puppet show.
First, we went to Bellevue and had a late lunch at a family-style italian restaurant. Good food but horrible service. I had made reservations and they still made us wait 30 mins for our crappy corner table by the waiters "catch-all" counter space. Plus, Scarlett then started to wet her pants and, in my mad rush to get her to the bathroom, I knocked over a stack of menus that were pilled up on the counter. I was so ticked.
So, we had to eat quickly but we made it to the puppet show right on time, which happened to be about two minutes from the house we are looking at. The puppet show was cute, 3 stories about friendship. And the kids went up and said hi to the puppets afterward and thanked the narrator. It was super cute. Then we drove by the house so the kids could see and then both kids fell right to sleep all the way home.
When we got home, Rick and Alvarita showed up about two minutes later so that we could go see Valentine's Day the movie. We ended up having to eat crap food at the movie theatre because it is Sunday and everything was closed! Super lame.
