Well, back to Louisville for another week of training. This time it's for my official/welcome to the Red Corss orientation. I hear it's very boring, but most orientations are. There's another new guy that's starting tomorrow so we'll spend most of the week together. His name is Randall and people keep saying he's "very professional" and he'll "fit in downtown" so I can't help but think of Randall from The Apprentice. I think I've been catching on to stuff at work pretty well and I'm doing as much as I can right now, but I wonder if he'll catch on faster. I'd be annoyed if that happened. I think I heard that he's been a salesperson before and I know his territory is in my much better shape than mine, so I feel like I'm already a little behind and I've been here 2+ weeks longer than him! But truthfully, I know it doesn't really matter. I just need to start thinking strategically so I can figure out where to get started.
On Friday I had the morning to myself so my boss and I agreed that I could start making some phone calls. I was supposed to call people who had blood drives in September (last month) to see if they wanted to have another one next September, but when I looked on the computer I saw that no one from January - August had been confirmed. So I switched plans and started calling the January people. The calls were ok - most of the people didn't answer and only one woman seemed annoyed that I called her. (It probably didn't help that her cell phone was cutting out and I asked her to repeat everything several times).
Did I mention the last time I went to Louisville, I was late? I can't even say how late because my boss asked me to be there between 9 and 9:30. I got there at 9:45 (oops) so I was either 15 or 45 minutes late. Ugh. I hate being late and hopefully that won't happen again for a while. So tonight I'm spending the night with my cousin so I'll only be 20 minutes or so from work instead of 2 hours. I just...don't feel like driving there this evening. I want to be at home - relaxing and enjoying the end of my weekend with Abdel.
Anyway....enough about work. My man and I went to Oktoberfest in Seymour, In yesterday. We spent most of our time eating (polish sausage, fries, and funnel cake = yum!!!!!!!!!!!) and some time chatting with the Red Cross people. We weren't there very long and soon headed back to Bloomington.
Well, this is an abrupt end but I have some stuff to do!
