Hey, kdborg!
You gave it up in brief, but what I really want is the expanded version.
I mean I got more info from News in Brief headlines.

Did you want to mention Dion is personally $200,000 in debt?
Or that this election cost the Liberal Party of Canada $18million?
The Liberal Party of Canada is $6million in debt this morning and the convention scheduled to be in Vancouver is probably going to be moved to Ottawa where it won't cost them as much.
You know you could make this post interesting, eh?

How about Conservative Party numbers?

The Conservative Party spent a few million in ads against Dion. Didn't the Conservative Party get most of their money prior to the party financing laws came into place?

Yes. But they still raise money. Remember they have all the grassroots doorknockers from the Preston Manning days. And they're not paying interest on their loans. Easier to make money when you're in the black then in the red. And they got more votes twice in a row now.

You have to remember the Liberal Party has always been the party for big business. The CEO's of every huge company is a Liberal contributer. Inco, Seagrams, Canada Steamship Lines, IrvingOil, MagnaCorp, Bombardier, Air Canada, Canadair, etc. Without corporate donations and the billionaires limited to $1,100, the Liberals are screwed.

Dion should write a thank you note to Jean Chretien, whose petty revenge on Paul Martin will screw the Liberal Party for years.

As are most new homeowners?

Like a homeowner whose mortgage is higher than the value of his home, Dion's loan is secured by an asset (the Liberal Party) whose value is falling.
